Provence Tuscany

"... I still think that one of the pleasantest of all emotions is to know that I, I with my brain and my hands, have nourished my beloved few, that I have concocted a stew or a story, a rarity or a plain dish, to sustain them truly against the hungers of the world."
— M.F.K. Fisher

" penetrate into Italy is like a most fascinating act of self-discovery - back, back down the old ways of time. Strange and wonderful chords awake in us, and vibrate again after many hundreds of years of complete forgetfulness."
--D.H. Lawrence

"...Paris... she has had my heart since my childhood...I love her ternderly, even to her warts and her spots. I am French only by this great city: the glory of France, and one of the noblest ornaments of the world. "
— Michel de Montaigne

The Cooking Classes

From the base of a private villa in the heart of Provence, the week long culinary intensives are for those who wish to learn the fundamentals of Mediterranean cooking. The weeks include a welcome dinner, 5 days of culinary instruction from 10 am-3 pm followed by lunch and include a market tour as well as wine and olive oil tastings. The classes are intimately kept to a maximum of 12 guests and designed around a seasonal event such as the Rose or Lavender harvests or a truffle hunt enabling one to take in the scents, seasonality and ingredients of the region while learning to cook. Transportation to and from the villa and accommodations are not included during the culinary intensives but we can assist guests in securing accommodations to budget and preference.  The prepared lunches and organized excursions are open to significant others not joining the cookery classes for a small supplement.

The price for the 2013-2014 Culinary Intensives is $3500.
